I'm back...and life's a hot mess.

Hello everyone!! I have missed you something terrible!

I am sorta back.  I mean, I'm physically back, but emotionally I'm still out in limbo.  In case some of you didn't know, my Grandpa Jim passed away on July 2nd, and his funeral was this last weekend.  So all week I think I only posted once, and that was a little tribute to him.

Life is one humongous pile of steamy brown cow poo. (Sorry Draz) I feel like I'm on a roller-coaster....naked....and hopped up on 5 Hour Energy.  It's craaaazzzyyy.

I'm going to keep this short because, well, work sucks a giant giraffe's pee-pee right now.  But last weekend was good and bad at the same time. And exhausting.  My family drinks. A LOT.  So it was pretty much non-stop from Thursday night till Sunday.  Getting to bed at 2 or 3am, waking up at 8am.  This chica is pooped.  They asked me to read my tribute about Grandpa at the funeral service. I was so shocked and humbled that they thought it was that good. I mean, I thought it was great, but I just wrote it to get some feelings out, not get a lot of attention.  But if I didn't want attention, I shouldn't blog then email said blog to all my family, huh? Anyway, I did it. It was hard. But I got lots of compliments on being able to stand up in front of 200 people and read my most precious memories about my Grandpa.

Then I took a shot of Crown. (not right then, but later) It tasted like hairspray. My insides are still burning. If you ever have the opportunity to have a shot of Crown...just say no. It's better for all.

Oh, and upon returning to my wonderful place of employment that brings me unexpectedly large amounts of joy all the time, I found both printers broken and have spent the last 4 hours covered in ink and replacing every single part that I can.  Yup....they're still broken.

I also have to get ready for our fun-cation this weekend (I'll be gone again...with no internet....i know, I have tears in my eyes already).  Which means going to the store, preparing food, packing everything because my husband is, again, out of town for work, loading everything in the truck, filling up the truck so we're ready to go, etc.

And on top of that, two photo shoots that I did OVER A MONTH AGO are now ready to order. One is no big deal because they're friends and they're totally great about letting me get to there stuff when I can, and i don't have to change much on they're pictures. Easy peesy. The other one is a total stranger and let me tell you.....I midge problematic (note sarcasm).  I have to swap smiles on like 10 pictures with her son that didn't even crack a measly smirk in 59 out of the 60 shoots I took.  Oh, and she will only communicate with my via text! Who doesn't have freaking email these days?!?!?! Grr.

OK, I'm going to go grab the blow torch and start disassembling the prints....just to make myself feel better.

I promise to be back to the lovely and hilarious LauraBelle when my life isn't such a shit storm.

Merry F-ing Monday.

  7. Ah man, it does sound like you have had quite the few weeks. Hang in there! If it makes you feel better - go apeshit on the printer a la Office Space style.

  10. So sorry for your loss. The tribute you wrote was beautiful. My grandmother passed away on my birthday 9 years ago and it was very tough. Remembering the good times and smiling always helped me through the rough patches.

  13. Sorry to hear about your Grandpa Jim.

I hope the heat breaks there (or has) and the rolling black outs stop---at least that sounds like what you described was happening.

    Hang in there!
